ALE NOVA rooftop shot on set of "What's up Joe"
Here is just one still (more to come) from my music video for “What’s up Joe” Directed by Myself and my friend Leo Flores of Chicago Music Project. This particular shot was awesome and there is a funny story on how it came about … ALE (pronounced AH-LE), Leo and I are are on this rooftop, Leo is shooting and when he’s done I say to ALE “Hey, man you should stand up on the edge for this next shot, it would look dope”.
Now, I’m thinking he’s gonna say “you’re outta you’re F#@%!N mind ! “ because I honestly just said it half joking , half “hey, you never know” because if you don’t ask, you won’t get so I asked … and as you can see, ALE did it with no hesitation.
As soon as he jumped up there, I got sick ! LOL. Yes, sick … I’m terrified of heights I couldn’t even watch him up there. At first Leo asked me to hold up a light for the shot and I was just a few feet away from ALE and I looked away the whole time. Afterward s either Leo decided he didn’t need the light or saw how much of a little girl I was being (hey, I dont front for noone!) so he shot some more without the light and i went to the other end of the roof. Three times I was dry heaving but thank god nothing came up and my stomach was going crazy. I wanted them to wrap up the shot quick!
The whole time, I’m thinking “Damn, I work with some of the most dedicated people. people that are willing to do crazy $#!+ with me, take their time to perfect something and keep at it until it’s right”.
Now, that’s art. That’s hip-hop and that’s what me and my people do. I can’t wait until you guys see the finished product.
